Discover
A complete cinema catalogue, even without a server.
Browse trending films and series, genres, studios, networks and streaming providers. Open a title to see artwork, synopsis, cast, trailers, recommendations and availability. Conversational search and mood-led selections help when you know the feeling, not the title.

- An internet connection.
- Optional
- Plex or WebDAV adds a “ready to play” state. Seerr adds a request action.
- Good to know
- Public discovery uses TMDB first; a personal media server is not required.

Library & playback
Your own media, with a native playback flow.
Connect Plex to browse libraries, continue watching and retain playback context, or connect WebDAV to reach files directly. Ōreia prioritises direct playback, remembers progress and lets you set preferred audio and subtitle languages.
- Requires
- A reachable Plex server and Plex account, or a WebDAV URL with valid credentials.
- For remote use
- Your server must be securely reachable outside your home network.
- Limit
- Ōreia does not provide, host or unlock media. It plays files available through your configured source.

Requests
Request a film or the exact seasons you want.
Send a film or series request from its detail page, choose individual seasons, and follow every request in one view. Status filters separate pending, approved, processing and available titles. Administrators can approve or decline pending requests; request owners can cancel when allowed.
- Requires
- A Seerr server configured by the administrator, with an account permitted to submit requests.
- Admin actions
- Approval and decline controls require an administrator profile.
- Without Seerr
- Ōreia can use the Plex Watchlist or a local list instead, but no acquisition request is sent.

Acquisition tracking
See what happens after you press Request.
Follow whether a requested title is approved, processing or available. When the connected services expose it, Ōreia also shows active Radarr or Sonarr download information and an estimated time remaining, so a request is no longer a black box.
- Requires
- Seerr connected to the administrator’s Radarr and/or Sonarr setup.
- Live detail
- Progress and ETA appear only when those services return current download data.
- Availability
- Playback becomes available only after the completed file is visible through Plex or WebDAV.

Offline downloads
Take selected media with you.
Download an available Plex item to the device, watch transfer progress, cancel an active download, play completed files offline and see how much storage each item uses. Downloads can be removed individually or all at once.
- Requires
- A playable Plex item, a reachable direct stream and enough free storage on the device.
- While downloading
- Keep a suitable network connection; cellular use may consume a large amount of data.
- Storage
- Files stay locally on that device and are removed when you delete them in Ōreia.

Notifications
Know when something you care about changes.
Choose alerts for your own requests and new episodes. Every profile can browse and play the films available in its library; administrators simply have extra server-wide alerts for newly added films, Seerr activity, Tautulli events, service outages and qBittorrent activity. Opening an alert can take you directly to the relevant area or title.
- Requires
- Notifications allowed in iOS, internet access and a notification relay configured by the server administrator.
- Per device
- Each iPhone or iPad registers separately and keeps its own alert preferences.
- Admin-only
- Only infrastructure and all-user activity alerts require an administrator profile; film access follows the permissions of the connected library.

Calendar
Understand what is coming next.
See upcoming film releases and episodes in a visual timeline, move between periods and open any title for full context. The calendar combines public release information with the series and titles relevant to your experience.

- An internet connection for current public release data.
- More personal
- Connected services and followed titles make the timeline more relevant to your library.
- Dates
- Release schedules can change and depend on information published by metadata providers.

History & statistics
Turn watch history into something you can read.
Review viewing rhythm, play history, favourite formats and personal patterns. Administrator views add live sessions, users, quality diagnostics, library composition, recently added media and deeper Tautulli-backed analysis.
- Requires
- A connected Plex library with watch history for personal statistics.
- Advanced stats
- Tautulli and administrator access are required for server-wide history, live and user analytics.
- Privacy
- Standard profiles see their own experience; administrative data remains restricted.

Apple Intelligence
Context that appears where it is useful.
Ōreia can compose a home briefing, rank personalised discovery, write smarter synopses and trivia, find dormant series, fit suggestions to the time available, understand conversational searches and offer a post-watch debrief.
- Requires
- A compatible Apple Intelligence device, a supported system configuration and Apple Intelligence enabled.
- Context
- Connected history and preferences improve personal results; discovery still works without them.
- Control
- Features, tone, verbosity and addressing style can be adjusted in Ōreia settings.

Profiles, privacy & control
One interface, different levels of access.
Switch between Plex Home profiles, keep managed profiles protected by their PIN, personalise appearance and playback preferences, and expose administrator controls only where appropriate. Credentials and local media state use Apple system storage on your device.

- A Plex Home account to switch server profiles; a solo setup works without profile switching.
- Permissions
- Location, notifications and iCloud features remain optional and are managed in Apple Settings.
- Responsibility
- You control the servers and third-party services connected to Ōreia and their own privacy settings.
